Financial transparency
Every dollar accounted for. Every dog protected.
Our Forever Angels and Mission Builders deserve to know not just how much money has been raised, but how that money is used to save and care for dogs.
Our 100% Dog Care Donation Promise
When you donate to a rescued dog’s lifetime care, 100% of your designated contribution goes toward caring for rescued dogs. Not one dollar of those designated donations will be used to pay employee salaries or the Foundation’s general administrative expenses.
That’s why we keep two separately accounted-for funds:
Forever Care Lifetime Dog Care Fund
Pays approved expenses such as veterinary care, vaccinations, pet insurance, grooming, treats, toys, food when necessary, and emergency medical care. Funds are also reserved so each dog’s care is supported throughout its remaining lifetime.
Sponsor a dog →Forever Care Operations & Staffing Fund
Supported by separate donations designated for operating the Foundation — employee salaries, administration, technology, insurance, fundraising and other organizational expenses.
Support operations →Our goal is simple: money donated for the dogs stays with the dogs. Money donated to operate the Foundation supports the people and systems that make those rescues possible.
Card processors deduct fees before a donation reaches us. So the promise is exact, processing fees on dog-care gifts are covered by the Operations & Staffing Fund — a $100 gift for the dogs is credited as $100 to the dogs.
Independent financial oversight
Complete transparency, from the first dollar
At Forever Care No Kill Pet Rescue Foundation, financial accountability is central to everything we do. Our goal is to engage an established, independent accounting firm to oversee our financial reporting and help ensure that every contribution is properly accounted for.
A ledger for every dog
Each rescued dog has an individual lifetime-care financial ledger showing:
- The funds allocated to that dog
- Approved expenses paid for its care
- Interest or investment earnings allocated to its reserve
- The remaining funds available for its future needs
Reserves are held in interest-bearing accounts at insured financial institutions. Interest earned stays with a dog’s reserve whenever it’s needed to keep that dog fully funded.
Separate tracking and regular reports
Our accounting system separately tracks donations designated for dog care and donations designated for staffing and operations. We will publish regular financial summaries and annual reports, and when appropriate and financially feasible, arrange independent financial audits or reviews.
When a dog’s care is complete
When a dog’s lifetime care is complete, any remaining funds that are legally available for reuse go to the Forever Care Rescue Fund to help provide lifetime care for another rescued dog.
Our promise is transparency, responsible stewardship, and a lasting commitment to every dog entrusted to our care.
