Forever Angels · Lifetime Dog Sponsors
Become a Forever Angel. Sponsor a dog for life.
Help a rescued dog find a loving home with a senior, veteran, person with a disability, or qualifying low-income family — and cover its care for the rest of its life.
We secure their future before we find their forever home
We fund the care first. Then we find the loving home.
Every dog placed through Forever Care will have a dedicated lifetime-care reserve established before adoption.
As a Forever Angel, your financial support helps cover the dog’s veterinary care, vaccinations, insurance, grooming, treats, toys and other essential needs throughout its lifetime. Our Forever Angels help fund that reserve, and when money is no longer needed for one dog’s care, eligible remaining funds help rescue and support another dog.
You provide the love. Our Forever Angels provide the care. Qualifying families provide loving homes, sponsors provide financial support, and the Foundation coordinates the rescue and ongoing care.

Suggested 20-year care cost per dog
These are proposed allowances, not negotiated prices or insurer quotes. We start conservatively — assuming no discounts from pet stores, veterinary clinics or insurance companies.
| Expense (per year) | Up to 50 lbs | Around 80 lbs | Around 100 lbs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pet insurance | $840 | $1,020 | $1,200 |
| Routine vet care, vaccines & prevention | $350 | $450 | $550 |
| Grooming, 3 visits | $210 | $270 | $330 |
| Treats ($30/month) | $360 | $360 | $360 |
| Toys | $120 | $150 | $180 |
| Uncovered medical & emergency allowance | $500 | $750 | $1,000 |
| Annual care budget | $2,380 | $3,000 | $3,620 |
| 20-year care budget | $47,600 | $60,000 | $72,400 |
| Initial adoption / setup allowance | $250 | $300 | $350 |
| Additional 25% planning reserve | $11,963 | $15,075 | $18,188 |
| Suggested lifetime funding goal | $60,000 | $76,000 | $91,000 |
Funding goals are rounded up. The 25% reserve is a planning cushion, not a guarantee against 20 years of inflation, serious illness or rising insurance premiums. Food is assumed donated and is not included. Where food can’t be donated, a 20-year backup food allowance of about $8,400 (up to 50 lbs), $15,600 (around 80 lbs), $24,000 (around 100 lbs) is added to that dog’s goal. Each dog’s final goal is set from its age and a veterinary assessment — the chart is the starting point.

Why plan for 20 years?
Rescuing a dog is a commitment for the rest of its life
That is why we plan conservatively, budgeting for up to 20 years of care, even though many dogs will not live that long. Our estimates include veterinary care, pet insurance, vaccinations, grooming, treats, toys, and reserves for unexpected medical expenses — so we are prepared if a dog lives a long, healthy life and needs more care as it ages.
We also expect to establish partnerships with pet food manufacturers, veterinary providers, pet insurance companies, pet stores and professional groomers. These partnerships could substantially reduce our actual expenses. Every dollar saved means more money available to help rescue another dog.
Before a dog is placed with a qualifying family, its lifetime-care funding goal must be reached. The funds are then managed to support that dog’s approved care expenses throughout its remaining life.
The Forever Care Rescue Fund
When one dog’s journey ends, another can begin
Your generosity doesn’t have to end when the life of the dog you sponsored comes to an end.
Every rescued dog has an individual lifetime-care budget, and the Foundation keeps detailed records of contributions, care expenses and the remaining balance allocated to that dog. When a sponsored dog passes away, any remaining funds no longer needed for its care — after all obligations are satisfied and subject to the applicable donation terms — are transferred to the Forever Care Rescue Fund.
Those funds are combined with other eligible contributions until enough is available to fully fund the lifetime care of another rescued dog. Then another dog can leave a shelter and enter a loving home.
One Forever Angel’s generosity can help save one dog today — and potentially help save more dogs tomorrow.
You don’t have to fund a whole dog alone

Many Forever Angels can contribute toward the same dog’s lifetime reserve. See how far a gift goes toward one dog’s goal.
- One-time gift, multi-year pledge or monthly giving
- A shared emergency reserve protects dogs whose needs exceed their projections
- If a family can no longer keep a dog, we arrange another home or foster care — the dog’s funding stays with the dog

Saving dogs. Enriching lives. Creating forever families.
A lifelong commitment to a dog. A life-changing gift to a family.
For a senior living alone, a veteran or a person with a disability, a dog can bring companionship, routine and purpose. Forever Angels make that possible for people who couldn’t otherwise afford it.
